A hammer of mass 1kg falls freely from a height of 2 m .Calculate (I) The velocity and (II) The ke. Of the hammer just before it touches the ground. Does the velocity of hammer depend on the massofhammer? (6.26m-2 , 19.6 J)​

Velocity of hammer does not depend on mass.

v²=u²+2as, since u=0 and acceleration is g=10m/s²

or, v²= 2×10×2

or, v= 2√10 (since √10≈3.16)

or, v= 2×3.16

or, v= 6.32m/s

now kinetic energy= (1/2)mv²

= 1/2×1×(6.32)²

= 1/2×39.9424 (approx)

=19.97Joule (approx)

I think, you take g=9.8m/s, so your answers will match
