hi, Jogi

A heap of stones can be made up into groups of 21. when made up into groups of 16 20 25 and 45

LCM of 16, 20, 25 and 45 = 3600

there are 3 stones left in each case.

1st number = 3600 * 1 + 3 = 3603 which is not divisible by 21.

2st number = 3600 * 2 + 3 = 7203 which is divisible by 21.

So there can be 7203 stones in the heap. ANS

Answer :

7203

Step by Step Explanation :

Number of stones :-

LCM of (16, 20, 25, 45) * K + 3 = 3600 K + 3

Since the stones can be made into groups of 21

∴ 9 K + 3 is divisible by 21 when K = 2

∴ Least number of stones = 3600 * 2 + 3 = 7203
