A heat exchanger is used to heat an oil in tubes (specific heat 1.9 kj/kgk) from 15c to 85c. oil mass flow rate is 0.725 kg/s. blowing across the outside of the tubes is steam which enters at 130c and leaves at 110c with a mass flow rate of 5.2 kg/s. the overall heat transfer coefficient is 275 w/m2-k and specific heat for steam is 1.86 kj/kg-k. calculate the surface area of the heat exchanger using the ntu method. this is an example of mixed steam and unmixed oil.
