Lighter object will have greater kinetic energy. This is because if both the lighter and heavier objects have the same momentum then it is clear that lighter object will have the greater velocity and since kinetic energy is velocity dominant so the lighter object with higher velocity will have higher kinetic energy.

We know that momentum of an object is given by
Given that both the objects have same momentum i.e
are the momentum of heavy and light body respectively. By substituting in above relation we get
from the above relation we can see that mass and velocity are inversely proportional to each other. That is if Mass increases then Velocity decreases
∴ Object with higher mass travels slowly than the object with lower mass
