Hey there

Surface area of the exposed portion of the cubical block
= 6(7)^2 - 7*7
=(6 *49) - 49
= 294 - 49
= 45 cm^2

Surface area of the exposed portion of the hemisphere
=[ 2 * 22/7 *(7*7)] - 2 *22/7 * 7
= 308 - 44
= 264 cm ^2

Therefore, surface area of the solid formed =(45 + 264)cm^2
=309 cm ^2 (ans)
