Solution:

Radius of hemispherical tank = 3/2      m

Therefore,

Volume of the tank = 2/3      ×22/7      ×(3/2)³= 99/14m³

Volume of the water to be emptied = 1/2      ×99/14 = 99/28m³

           =   99000/28 litres

Since,    25/7    litres of water is emptied in one second. Therefore,

Total time taken to empty the half tank, i.e.,    99000/28   litres of water

=   99000/28   ×   7/25   seconds=   99000/28   ×7/25      ×1/60      minutes

=16.5 minutes
