Step-by-step explanation:

Inner radius :- 3 ‐ 1 = 2 cm

height :- 8 cm

Outer radius :- 3 cm

height :- 8 cm

Volume of the cylinder

=> 22/7 × (3 - 2) × (3 + 2) × 8

=> 22/7 × 1 × 5 × 8

=> 22/7 × 40

=> 880/7 (ans)

The answer is 125.71 cm³

GIVEN

A hollow cylinder made of wood has thickness 1 cm while its external radius is 3 CM if the height of the cylinder is 8 cm.

TO FIND

The volume of the cylinder.

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

It is given,

External radius(R) = 3cm

Thickness of the wood = 1 cm

Inner radius of the cylinder(r) = 3-1 = 2cm

Height of the cylinder(h) = 8 cm

We know that,

Volume of a hollow cylinder is given by the formula;

V = π(R²-r²)h

Putting the values in the above formula we get;

V =  \frac{22}{7}  \times( {3}^{2} -  {2}^{2}  )   \times 8

Solving for V

 =  \frac{22}{7}  \times 5 \times 8

= 125.71cm³

Hence, The answer is 125.71 cm³
