A hollow cylindrical tube open at both ends of iron 3cm thick. If the external duameter be 56cn and the length of the tube is 182cm, find the number of cubic cm of iron in it.​

Given, thickness of iron =3cm

external diameter = 42cm

Length of tube = 140cm

We know,

volume of hollow cylinder = πh(R²−r²)

∴ internal diameter = external diameter−2×thickness of iron

= 42−2×3

= 42−6

= 36cm

=> Outer radius(R) = 42÷2 = 21cm

inner radius(r) = 36÷2 = 18cm

∴ Volume of hollow cylinder = πh(R²−r²)

= 3.14×140(21²−18²)

= 3.14×140×117

= 51433.2 cm³
