mass = 18g
volume = 24 - 2.5 = 21.5
density = mass / volume
= 18 / 21.5
= 0.8372 g / cc

Given:

Then mass of metal  is m=18 g

The volume is 2.5 cm³

To find:

The specific gravity of the metal

Solution:

The water displaced is 24 gm- 2.5gm= 21.5 gm

Density =Mass/ volume

D= 18/21.5

D=0.83

Therefore the specific gravity of metal is 0.83 gm/cc
