Answer:

the shortest distance bug has to travel to reach honey = 25 cm

Explanation:

A hollow pipe has circumference 14 cm.

so Half circumference = 14/2 = 7 cm

Horizontal Distance between Bug & Honey = 7 cm

Drop of Honey is at 24 cm from Top

Bug is at 48 cm from Top

Vertical distance between Bug & Honey = 48 - 24 = 24 cm

Shortest Distance = Diagonal Distance

Diagonal Distance = √((horizontal distance)² + (Vertical Distance)²)

= √( 7² + 24²)

= √ (49 + 576 )

= √625

= 25

the shortest distance bug has to travel to reach honey = 25 cm
