Answer:

We have to assume that the solid cube is completely immersed.

The hollow prism has a square base of area 16 x 16 = 256 cm^2. The water has a volume of 16 x 16 x 10 = 2560 cm^3.

The solid cube has a volume of 8 x 8 x 8 = 512 cm^3. It will displace that much water, which will increase the water level by 512 / 256 = 2 cm.
