Given : A hollow sphere of external and internal diameters 16 cm and 8 cm

To Find : The volume and the outer surface area of hollow sphere.

Solution:

Radius = Diameter /2

Surface area of sphere = 4π(Radius)²

Volume of sphere =  (4/3)π(Radius)³

outer surface area of hollow sphere.

Outer Diameter = 16 cm

=> Outer Radius = 16/2 = 8 cm

outer surface area of hollow sphere.  = 4π(8)²

= 256 π

use  π = 3.14

= 256 ( 3.14)

= 803.84 cm²

outer surface area of hollow sphere.  = 803.84 cm²

inner radius = 8/2 = 4 cm

Volume = outer Volume - Inner Volume

(4/3)π(8)³  -  (4/3)π(4)³

=  (4/3)π ( 512 - 64)

= (4/3)π ( 448)

= 1,875.62 cm³

Volume  = 1,875.62 cm³
