A horizontal force of 10N displaces a body of 5 kg along the direction of force 2 m. The
work done by the force will be

Given :

  • Force applied = 10 N
  • Mass of the body = 5 kg
  • Displacement = 2m

To find :

  • Work done by the force

Solution :

The work done by the body is given by ,

\longrightarrow \boxed{\mathtt{W = F.S \cos \phi}}

here ,

  • W = work done
  • F = force
  • S = displacement
  • Ф = Angle

As the force and displacement both are acting in the same direction

∴ Ф = 0

Hence ,

➜ W = F.S cos 0

➜ W = F.S           (∵ cos 0 = 1)

➜ W = 10 x 2

W = 20 J

The work done by the force is 20 J .

As the force and displacement both are acting in the same direction.

∴ Ф = 0

Hence ,

=> W = F.S cos 0

=> W = F.S (∵ cos 0 = 1)

=> W = 10 x 2

=> W = 20 J

The work done by the force is 20 J. Ans.
