Cost of a horse + cart=H+C=1600 rs...........1
according to the question,
cost of cart = 1/3 cost of the horse
we can write this as C=1/3H. ............2
put equation 2 in 1
so,H+1/3H=1600
3H+H=1600×3
4H=4800
H=1200
so put Value of H in equation 2
C=1/3×1200
C=400
Hence the cost of horse is 1200 and cost of cart is 400
