Explanation:

u = 0

t = 20s

a = 3m/s^2

(i) v = u + at

= 0 + 3 × 20

= 60m/s

(ii) s = ut + 1/2at^2

= 0 × 20 + 1/2 × 3 × 20 × 20

= 0 + 600

= 600m

Hope it's helpful............

AnswEr :

›»› The final velocity of the horse is 60 m/s.

›»› The distance travelled by the horse is 600 m.

Given :

  • Acceleration produced by horse (a) = 3 m/s².
  • Time taken by horse (t) = 5 sec.

To Calculate :

  • Final velocity of horse (v) = ?
  • Distance travelled by horse (s) = ?

How to Calculate?

Since, we are provided with the Distance and the time taken by the body, we can use the first equation of motion to calculate the final velocity of horse.

But according to the given information, horse starts from rest, i.e, the Initial velocity of the horse will be 0.

Here, we concluded that :

→ Initial velocity of the horse is 0 m/s.

To calculate the distance travelled by horse we can use Second equation of motion.

Calculation :

Final velocity of the horse.

From first equation of motion

⟶ v = u + at

⟶ v = 0 + 3 * 20

⟶ v = 0 + 60

v = 60

Hence, the final velocity of the horse is 60 m/s.

\:

Distance travelled by the horse.

From second equation of motion

⟶ s = ut + 1/2 * at²

⟶ s = 0 * 20 + 1/2 * 3 * (20)²

⟶ s = 0 + 1/2 * 3 * (20)²

⟶ s = 0 + 1/2 * 3 * 400

⟶ s = 0 + 1 * 3 * 200

⟶ s = 0 + 3 * 200

⟶ s = 0 + 600

s = 600

Hence, the distance travelled by the horse is 600 m.
