Answer: Energy consumed = 2.333 X 10^{10} Joules.

Explanation:

Given,

2 tube lights run for 5 hours everyday.

Power consumed by 1 tube light = 30 W

Power consumed by 2 tube lights =2 × 30 W = 60 W

2 tube lights are kept on for five hours.So,consumption of power by 2 tube lights = 5 × 60 W = 300 W

Consumption of power in one day = 300 W

Therefore the total consumption of power in 30 days = 300 × 30

= 9000 W

To convert power into energy,

Energy = Power (In Watts) X Time (Seconds)

Number of Seconds in 30 Days = 30 X 24 X 60 X 60 = 2.592 X 10^{6} Seconds

Energy = 9000 X 2.592 X 10^{6} = 2.333 X 10^{10} Joules.
