a) Embryo derives its nourishment from the mother's blood through the placenta. Placenta contains villi on the side of the embryo and blood vessels surrounding villi on the side of the mother. Oxygen and glucose pass from the mother to the embryo through the placenta.

b) If the Mother's blood type is B, and the father's blood type is O, then their child must be either B or O. ... In this case, the child is "pure-bred" for the A gene. The child can only pass on an A gene to his offspring.
