Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = ax^2 - 3(a-1)x -1

Now, on putting the value of x on the above equation.

We get,

f(2) = a2^2 -3(a-1)2-1

f(2) =4a - 6a+6-1

f(2) = -2a+5

-2a +5= 0

-2a = -5

a= 5/2

So, the value of a is 5/2
