Rutherford experiment is known as alpha particals scattering experiment.he passed alpha particals through a gold foil. all the particals passed easily through it . so the atoms in gold foil contain lot of space. And some are changed their angles bcuz they met positively charged particle nucleus. only one came back bcuz it directly met the nucleus..

b). the element is chlorine.the electronic configuration is 2,8,7. It's valancy is 1.....
