A is 20 years older than B. 5 years ago, A was 3 times as old as B. Find there present ages. Plz fast answer ..

a=b+20

=a-20=b

=3a-60=3b (1)

a-5=3(b-5)

=a-5= 3b -15

=a-5+15=3b

=a+10=3b (2)

from equation (1) and (2)

3a-60=a+10

=3a-a=10+60

=2a=70

=a=35

therefore b=35-20=15 ANSWER

means age of A is x × 3 at that time.( bcz the age difference is 20 years and also 3 times of B)

so.. at that time A was 30 year older than B

so at that time age of B was 30/3 means 10 years .

so the current age of A is 35

and B is of 15.
