Let the age of A be x

and the age of B be y

similarly the age of father and sister be c and d resp.

A/P,

x-y=2

c=2x

y=d

c-d=40

Therefore, x-y=2

=>x=2+y

From c-d= 40

=>2x-y=40

=>2(2+y)-y=40

=>4+2y-y=40

=>y=36

Putting the value of y in x=2+y, we get

=>x=2+36

=>x=38

The age of A is 38

Hope it helps you
