A's age is 14.

Lets say how it comes,

Let B's age be assumed as x.

As A is younger than B by 4 years , therefore A's age is x-4

Using the ratio,

  x-4/x=7/9

9x-36=7x

2x=36

x=18

Thus A's age is 14.

GIVEN :

=> A IS YOUNGER THAN B BY 4 YRS....

=> RATIO OF A : B = 7 : 9

⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

LET ,

A = X

BY GIVEN CONDITION :

B = X + 4

⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

BY SECOND CONDITION :

=> X / X + 4 = 7 / 9

=> ( X + 4 ) 7 = 9 * X

=> 7X + 28 = 9X

=> 28 = 9X - 7X

=> 28 = 2X

=> X = 28 / 2

=> X = 14

SO,

=> AGE OF A = 14 YRS

=> AGE OF B = 14 + 4

=> AGE OF B = 18 YRS
