Total No. of marbles = 24
P ( The chosen marble is green ) = x/24 = 2/3
x = 16
Therefore No. of green marbles = 16
Therefore, no. of blue marbles = 24 - 16 = 8

We know that,

probability of blue marble+ probability of green marble = 1

let no. of blue marbles be x

so the probability of blue marbles =
(no. of blue marbles / total no. of marbles) = (x/24)

putting values in formula

we get,
(x/24)+(2/3) = 1

taking lcm,

[(x+16) / 24 ] = 1

x+16= 24

x= 8

no. of blue marbles = 8
