A jar contains 24 marbles, some are green and others are blue. If a marble is drawn at random from the jar , the probability that is green is 2/3. Find the number of blue balls in the jar.

Given :

Total marbles = 24

Probability of getting a green ball = 2 / 3

Now,

Probability of getting a green ball = Total no. of green balls / Total balls

Total no. of green balls = Probability × Total balls

= 2 / 3 × 24

= 16

Total green balls = 16

Total blue balls = Total balls - Total green balls

= 24 - 16

= 8

Hence,

Total blue balls in the jar = 8
