a jar contains 550 beans.of all the beans 2/5 are white beans and the rest are navy beans what is the ratio of white beans to navy beans

Here is your answer,

Total Number of beans = 550

Number Of white beans = 2/5 × 550

= 2 × 110

= 220

No. Of navy beans = 550 - 220

= 330

White beans : Navy beans = 220 / 330

= 2:3

given the total number of beans in the jar is 550.

if 2/5 of the beans is white beans,

then number of white beans = 2/5×550

= 2×110

= 220

hence the total number of white beans in the jar is 220.

if 220 is white beans then number of navy beans = 540-220

= 330

total number of navy beans in the jar is 330.

ratio of white beans to navy beans :-

=> white beans : navy beans

=> 220 : 330 ÷ 10

=> 22 : 33 ÷ 11

=> 2 : 3
