A jet engine pushes out 50kg of gas every second at a velocity of 150m/s
a) what thrust (force)does the engine produce?
b) If the engine pushed out twice the mass of gas at half the velocity, what would the thrust (force) be?

To find the thrust we will have to find the acceleration of the gas
as initial velocity is 0 as the is in rest state
final velocity is v = 150m/s
time is 1 sec
v=u+at
150=0+a(1)
a=150
force = mass * acceleration
force=50*150
f=7500 N
in the second part the acceleration will be half and mass will be twice
thus no effect on force applied
f=7500
