The Jetliner goes from City A to city B. The wind of speed v kmph is blowing from B towards A. So the speed of the Jetliner from city A to B is 3600 - v kmph. The speed of traveling from city B to city A is 3600 + v km. Let the distance between the cities be S km.
Time taken to go from A to B : S / (3600 + v)
Time taken to return : S / (3600 - v)
The Ratio = (3600 + v) / (3600 - v) = 1.2
=> 3600 + v = 1.2 * 3600 - 1.2 v
=> v = 720/2.2 = 327.27 kmph
avg speed of wind = 237.37 kmph
Time taken to go from A to B : S / (3600 + v)
Time taken to return : S / (3600 - v)
The Ratio = (3600 + v) / (3600 - v) = 1.2
=> 3600 + v = 1.2 * 3600 - 1.2 v
=> v = 720/2.2 = 327.27 kmph
avg speed of wind = 237.37 kmph
