A jeweller allows a discount of 16%to his customers and still gains 20%.Find the marked price of a ring which costs the jeweller Rs1190

Explanation:

We know the C.P of article is 1190.

He gains 20% on the C.P i.e

S.P= 1190*6/5= 1,428

Profit=  Rs. 238

Now we need to find the Marked up price. We can find it by reciprocating the multiplying factor.

M.P= 1,428*25/21= Rs. 1700.

Hence, the Marked price is Rs.1700.
