A king asks a learned man to visit his palace. The man says I will come any day next month. But give me gold in gms equal to the date on which I come. The king asks the jeweler to make rings of 1 to 31 gms. The jeweler was smart and makes only 5 rings. What are the weights of those rings?

If the wise man arrives on 3rd day, he can get ring with 1 & 2 grams.

If wise man arrives on 15th day, he will be given ring with 1, 2, 4, 8 grams.

If the wise man visits on 30th day, he will get ring with 2, 4, 8, 16 grams.

So, rings with weight 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 grams will be made and the combination of these five numbers will give all date range from 1-31 of any month.
