Given,

A kite is flying at a height of 20 metres vertically above the ground.

The fish is in the water at the depth of 5 metres.

To find,

The vertical distance between the kite and the fish.

Solution,

According,to the given data mentioned in the question,we can assume that the position of the fish and the kite are two end point of a vertical straight line.

Now,we have to calculate the length of that vertical straight line to calculate the vertical distance between the kite and the fish.

So,the vertical distance = Height of the kite + Depth of the fish = 20+5 = 25 metres

Hence, the vertical distance between the kite and the fish is 25 metres.
