A labour is engaged with a work for 20 days.he earns ₹60 per 1 day. If he was absent,he have to pay ₹5 per 1 day. At the end of 20 days he received ₹745. how many days he was absent for the work he engaged ? ​

earning in present day for 1 day= ₹ 60

he pays for absent for 1 day= ₹ 5

total payment in 20 days= ₹745

let he worked = x days

so he absent y days

payment =60x+5y

60x-5y=745

5(12x-y)=745

12x-y=149........(2)

x+y=20...(3) (given in eq1)

adding eq3 from eq2

12x+y+x-y=149+20

13x=169

x=13 days he worked

(20-x)=(20-13)=7 days he was absent
