A ladder 15 m. long reaches a window which is ºm. above the ground on one side of a street
keeping its foot at the some point, the ladder is tumed to the other side of the street to reach a
window 12 m high. Find the width of the street.​

By Pythagoras Theorem

Ladder = 15 m

Ladder Height reaching the window = 12 m

Width of the street = ?

AB^2 + BC^2 = AC^2

12 m^2 + x = 15 m ^2

144 m + x = 225 m

x = 225- 144

x = Square root 81 m

x = 9 m
