A ladder is inclined to a wall making an angle of 60° with it. A man is ascending the ladder at the rate of 2 m/s. How fast is he approaching the wall ?

Now we know the various angles of the triangle 90 , 30 and 60(180-90+30) and the length of hypotenuse . Using this calculate the length of other sides by using trigonometric ratios . The ratio comes out to be

H:P:B = 2:√3:1

Now the movemenf along hypotenuse is at a rate of 2m/s so the dispalce ment along base will be at a rate of 1 m/s ( half of hypotenuse) .
