take it to be a right angle triangle where the base is 12 cm and height is 35 cm

applying pythagoras theorem we get,

(12)²+(35)²=(length of ladder)²

144+1225=(length of ladder)²

1369=(length of ladder)²

∴√1369=(length of ladder)

=37
