Therefore, Area of the rectangle= l×b

Width of the path surrounding the  rectangle=1m

Now, length of the rectangle including the path=10m+1m

=11m

Breadth of the rectangle including the path=8m+1m

=9m

Therefore the Area of the rectangle including the path=l×b

=11m×9m

=99m^2

Now,Area of the path surrounding the  rectangle=Area of the rectangle including the path - Area of the Rectangle.

=(99-80)m^2

=19m^2 (ans.)
