Given :-

◉ A lawn is in the shape of a Parallelogram, where

  • Base = 50 m
  • Height = 18 m

◉ It takes 1 minute to plant grass on 15 m².

To Find :-

◉ Time taken to plant on the lawn

Solution :-

We know,

Area of a Parallelogram = Base × Height

⇒ Area = 50 × 18

Area = 900

Now,

Time taken to plant grass on 15 m² = 1 minute

∴ Time taken = Area / 15

⇒ Time taken = 900 / 15

⇒ Time taken = 60

Hence, It would take 60 minutes or 1 Hour to plant on the given lawn.

Some Information :-

☛ Area of Parallelogram = Base × Height

If given its base and height.

Properties of Parallelogram :-

  • Opposite angles are equal.
  • Opposite sides are equal and parallel to each other.
  • Sum of adjacent angles is 180°

Required answer:

Given:

A lawn is in the shape of a paralleogram the base is 50m and the height is 18m. You can plant 15 square metres of grass per minute.

Find:

How long will it take you to plant the lawn.

We can use the below formula to solve this question:

{\boxed{\rm{Area \: of \: Parallelogram = Base \times Height}}}

Calculations:

\longrightarrow\rm{50 \times 18}

\longrightarrow\rm{900 \: m^{2}}

Therefore, 900 m² is the area.

\longrightarrow\rm{\dfrac{900}{15}}

\longrightarrow\rm{60 \: seconds}

Note:

  • 1 minutes = 60 Seconds.

Therefore, 1 minute is the required time taken.
