Given:-

  • The length of a bacteria when enlarged 50,000 times is 5 cm.

To find:-

  • The actual length of the bacteria.
  • The length of the bacteria after enlarging 20,000 times

Here,

The length of the bacteria when enlarged 50,000 times is 2 cm.

Now,

let the actual size of the bacteria be x

That is,

\sf{50000x = 5cm}

\sf{\implies \: x =  \frac{5}{50000} }

\sf{\implies \: x =  \frac{1}{10000} }

\sf{\implies \: x = 10 {}^{ - 4} }

Hence,

\bf{The  \: actual \:  size \:  of  \: the \:  bacteria \:  is 10 {}^{ - 4} }

Now,

let's find the size of the bacteria when enlarged 20,000 times.

That is

\sf{ \implies \: 10 {}^{ - 4}  \times 20000}

\sf{\implies\:  2}

Therefore,

The length of the bacteria when enlarged 20,000 is 2 cm.
