U= -120 mm

ho=60 mm

hi=12 mm

1. concave lens

2.m = hi/ho

  m = 12/60 = 1/5 = 0.2 mm = 2 cm

3. 2nd ray diagram of concave lens

4.  hi/ho = v/u

    12/60 = v/-120

     0.2 x -120 = v

     v  =  24 mm

    1/f = 1/v - 1/u

    1/f = 1/24 + 1/120

    1/f = [10 + 2]/240

    1/f = 1/20

    f = 20 mm

5   P = 1/f[in m]

    P = 1/0.2

    P = 5 D

6. concave lens is used in shaving mirrors and dentists.
