Hey mate !!

Here's the answer !!

MATHEMATICS contains 11 letters

Number of vowels = 4

Number of consonants = 7

So the Probability would be 4 / 11

Hope this helps !!

Cheers !!

Vaneet16: thanks bro
Vaneet16: sorry my mistake
Steph0303: corrected
Steph0303: no problem
Steph0303: my pleasure
hardikraj57: The random alphabet is not taken from the word mathematics. The question is to find the probability of getting a vowel from the word mathematics.
Steph0303: yes
Steph0303: so sample space is 11
Steph0303: vowels is 4 in nunber
Steph0303: so 4/11 is the probability

If the word is MATHEMATICS then P(E)=3/26

Steph0303: from the word only sample space
Steph0303: see the question is asking the number of vowels in this word only
Steph0303: so the sample space is the number of letters in the word
Steph0303: hope u understood
hardikraj57: The question reads ' a letter of English alphabets is chosen at random'. It nowhere states that it is chosen from the word mathematics.
hardikraj57: Hope you understood.
Steph0303: yup the question is equally wrong on both counterparts
Steph0303: pls apologise me
hardikraj57: It's fine brother
Steph0303: thx
