THE REFRACTIVE INDEX SHOWS US THE DECREASE AND INCREASE IN THE SPEED OF THE LIGHT WHEN PASS THROUGH ONE MEDIUM TO ANOTHER.

IF THERE IS NO DEVIATION IN THE PATH OF LIGHT THAN THE CHANGE IN SPEED IS ZERO HENCE, BOTH THE MEDIUM HAVE SAME REFRACTIVE INDEX AND DENSITY AS WELL SO ACC. TO YOUR QUESTION THE REFRACTIVE INDEX OF Y IS SAME AS X THAT IS 1.5
