GIVEN

A line AB intersects the axes at (m, 0) and (0, n) respectively. If P is the midpoint of AB

TO DETERMINE

The Coordinates of P

FORMULA TO BE IMPLEMENTED

The midpoint of the line joining the two ( a, b) & (c, d) is

 \displaystyle \sf{  = \bigg(  \frac{a + c}{2} ,  \frac{b + d}{2}  \bigg)}

CALCULATION

Here the line AB intersects the axes at (m, 0) and (0, n)

Now P is the midpoint of AB

Therefore the coordinate of P is

 \displaystyle \sf{  = \bigg(  \frac{m+ 0}{2} ,  \frac{0 + n}{2}  \bigg)}

 \displaystyle \sf{  = \bigg(  \frac{m}{2} ,  \frac{ n}{2}  \bigg)}
