Given : A line is represented by 7 y = 56 − 8 x

mirror image is taken with respect to the Y − a x i s

To Find : What will be the equation of the new line

Solution:

A line is represented by 7 y = 56 − 8 x

mirror image is taken with respect to the Y − a x i s

in image through y axis

y coordinate remains same and sign of x coordinate chnge

7 y = 56 − 8 x

Mirror image  taken with respect to the Y axis

=> 7y = 56 - 8(-x)

=> 7y = 56 + 8x

=> y = 8 + 8x/7

=> y = (8/7)x  + 8

equation of the new line 7y = 56 + 8x

y = (8/7)x  + 8
