• Robert Clive was India's first governor general, and head of the East India Company (EIC). After a few battles he established British rule and persuaded the French to leave India to them. He created British power by overthrowing the ruler of the wealthier state of Bengal.
• Clive won multiple battles through  bravery, brilliance,  aggression, perseverance, confidence and decisiveness and ultimately conquered and installed a ruler in Bengal. As a lieutenant-colonel Robert Cliven commanded the expedition that was sent to take over Calcutta (kolkata) from Nawab Siraj-Ud-Daulah in the year December 1756.
• He maintained EIC's rule in Bengal throughout his second term, gaining the right from Emperor Shah Alam II to collect customs duties and land taxes in  the year 1765. That ensured British military dominance in the region , making India 's the richest province ruler of the EIC. To collect the taxes in the territories, the EIC created a huge military and civil.
• Clive was permitted to take much gold from the treasury of Bengal as the conqueror of Bengal,  where the Bengal province was the richest Indian province, thus making Clive one of the wealthiest men in England.
• He was the Mastermind of Plassey battle in the year 1757 . He defeated the Nawab Siraj-ud-daulah treacherously.⠀ Plassey battle was a war of corruption and treachery. In India he laid the foundation stone for the British rule.
