Answer:
Title: Tides
Explanation:
A young girl named Minah lived in a town by the sea. She came from a very poor family, although they all took care of each other and did their best to provide for one another. In her spare time, Minah liked to go down to the beach and draw in the sand with a long, willowy stick for as long as she could until the tide washed her drawings away. She couldn't afford to go to school, so she had no friends her age, and this was the only thing she could do to entertain herself. She had been drawing in the sand from the moment she could make her way down to the beach herself. One day, a man walking behind Minah saw her drawings, and as if in surprise, exclaimed, "What lovely sketches you've done there! What's your name?" Minah, startled by the abrupt attention, gave her name and her age, and told the man a little about herself. It turned out the man was the curator of the small art gallery in the center of the town, and he was on the beach collecting shells for his latest installation. "I've found something much better though, I think", the man said, a gleam in his eye. He then proposed to Minah an opportunity that she couldn't have even dreamt herself in her most vivid daydreams: he wanted her to come work with him as an apprentice, and when she was confident enough in her work, he would showcase it to sell to the citizens of the little town. Minah, overjoyed, accepted, and agreed to meet the man outside of his gallery early the next morning to begin learning how to draw using real, actual mediums. After the man walked away, Minah looked down at her simple drawings in the sand, amazed. As the tide washed them away, she wondered where it would take her next.
