A loud sound can be heard at a large distance but a feeble or soft sound cannot be heard at a large distance . Explain why?

because loud sound have greater amplitude thus bigger crest and trough and if damp motion occurs it will stop after covering large distance, but in case of feeble it cover less distance due to having less amplitude which easily damped after short distance.and also loud have large wavelength that's why it cover more distance and is audible after covering large distance.

A loud sound can move a larger distance than a soft sound because a large sound has larger amplitude which means it has more energy level than a soft sound with small amplitude with less energy level .
