Correct Question :

A machine gun fires 360 bullets in a minute with a velocity of 500 m/s catch bullet is 5gm. Find the power of the gun

.

Given :

  • No. of bullets fired in 1 minute = 360
  • Mass of bullet (m) = 5  gram
  • Velocity of bullet (v) = 500 m/s

To find :

  • Power of gun

Solution :

Number of bullets fired in 1 second = 360/60

                                                     ∴ n = 6

Mass of bullet (m) = 5 g = 5 × 10⁻³ Kg

Now we know formula,

Power of gun = No. of bullets fired in 1 s × K.E. of bullet

Putting values,

⇒ Power of gun = 6 * 1/2 * mv²

⇒ Power of gun = 3 * 5 * 10⁻³ * (500)²

⇒ Power of gun = 15 * 10⁻³ * 250000

⇒ Power of gun = 3750000 * 10⁻³

Power of gun = 3750 Watt

⇒ Power of gun = (3750/1000) killoWatt

Power of gun = 3.75 KilloWatt

Power of gun = 3750 W or 3.75 kW

Answer:

Solution

Number of bullet fire in 1 second = 360/60 = 6

Mass of bullet = 5g

Power of gun = 6 × ½ × mv²

➡️ 3×5×10-³ × (500²)

➡️ 15 × 10-³ × (500²)

➡️ 37500 × 10-³

➡️  \huge \sf {Power in watt = 3750 watt}

➡️  \huge \underline {Power in kilowatt = 3.75 Kilowatt}

Formula used

Power of gun = No. of bullet fired in 1 second × K.E of bullet
