Given:

Machine raises a load of 100 kg to a height of 15 m. Time taken is 5 sec.

To find:

  • Energy spent by the machine

  • Power developed by the machine.

Calculation:

Energy spent by the machine will be equal to the the potential energy stored into the object at the specified height.

work = m \times g \times h

 =  > work = 100 \times 10 \times 15

 \boxed{ =  > work = 15000 \: J }

Power developed by the machine will be equal to the ratio of the work done to the time taken by the machine.

power =  \dfrac{work}{time}

 =  > power =  \dfrac{15000}{5}

 \boxed{ =  > power =  3000 \: watt}

Hope It Helps.
