A. Make a table of values in the given system of linear equations.
1.
x+y=102x+y=13\begin{lgathered}x + y = 10 \\ 2x + y = 13\end{lgathered}
x+y=10
2x+y=13

2.
x+y=2x−y=4\begin{lgathered}x + y = 2 \\ x - y = 4\end{lgathered}
x+y=2
x−y=4

B. Use the intercept method to find sets of ordered pairs and the given system of linear equations.
3.
x−y=37x−y=−3\begin{lgathered}x - y = 3 \\ 7x - y = - 3\end{lgathered}
x−y=3
7x−y=−3

4.
4x+y=2x−y=3\begin{lgathered}4x + y = 2 \\ x - y = 3\end{lgathered}
4x+y=2
x−y=3

C. Graph the above given system of linear equations. For set number 1 and 2, use the table of values method.
5.
x−y=102x+y=13\begin{lgathered}x - y = 10 \\ 2x + y = 13\end{lgathered}
x−y=10
2x+y=13

6.
x+y=2x−y=4\begin{lgathered}x + y = 2 \\ x - y = 4\end{lgathered}
x+y=2
x−y=4

For set number 3 and 4, use the intercept method.
7.
x−y=37x−y=−3\begin{lgathered}x - y = 3 \\ 7x - y = - 3\end{lgathered}
x−y=3
7x−y=−3

8.
4x+y=2x−y=3\begin{lgathered}4x + y = 2 \\ x - y = 3\end{lgathered}
4x+y=2
x−y=3

Activity 2
D. graph each system of linear equations.
9.
2x−y=24x−2y=4\begin{lgathered}2x - y = 2 \\ 4x - 2y = 4\end{lgathered}
2x−y=2
4x−2y=4

10.
x+y=−3x−y=−1\begin{lgathered}x + y = - 3 \\ x - y = - 1\end{lgathered}

Given : 1.  x+y=10   ,  2x+y=13

2.  x+y=2   , x−y=4

3.  x−y=3   , 7x−y=−3

4.  4x+y=2  , x−y=3

5.  x−y=10  , 2x+y=13

To Find : Solve for x & y

Solution:

1.

x+y=10   ,

2x+y=13

=> x = 3

   y = 7

( 3 , 7)

2.

x+y=2   ,

x−y=4

=> 2x = 6 => x = 3

y = 1

( 3 , 1)

3.

 x−y=3   ,

7x−y=−3

=> 6x = -6

=> x = - 1

=> y = -4

( 1, - 4)

 4.

4x+y=2  ,

x−y=3

=> 5x = 5

=> x = 1

 y = - 2

( 1 , - 2)

5.

x−y=10  ,

2x+y=13

=> 3x = 23

=> x = 23/3

    y = -7/3
