A man borrowed Rs. 4000 at a certain rate of interest and Rs. 5000 at 2% lower than the first. in all He paid Rs. 1050 as interest in 3 years. Find the two rates at which he borrowed the money.​

Given the total interest he paid for whole mone =1050

and Time =3 years

let the interest rate of Rs4000=R

then rate of interest of Rs 5000 will be=R-2

Now ,A.T.Q

1050={4000×R×3}÷100+{5000×(R-2)×3}÷100

105=12R+15R-30

35=4R+5R-10

or 9R=45

R=5

Hence the rate at which 4000 borrowed =5%

and the rate at which 5000 borrowed =3%
