Given : A man borrowed Rs.7800 at 6 1/2% simple interest from a bank. he lent Rs.3000 at 8% to John and remining money he lent Mohan at 7 1/2%

at the end 2 1/2 year both John and mohan returned the money .

To Find : How much gain did he get.

Solution:

SI = P * R * T /100

P = 7800

R = 6 1/2 = 13/2 %

T = 2 /12  = 5/2  Years

SI = 7800 * (13/2) * (5/2) /100  = Rs  1,267.5

To be paid to bank = Rs 1,267.5

P = 3000

R = 8 %

T =  2 /12  = 5/2  Years

SI = 3000 * 8 * (5/2) /100  = Rs 600

7800 - 3000 = 4800

P = 4800

R = 7 1/2 = 15/2 %

T = 2 /12  = 5/2  Years

SI = 4800 * (15/2) * (5/2) /100  = Rs  900

Total to be received = 600 + 900 = Rs 1500

Gain = 1500 - 1267.5

= Rs 232.5

He got gain of Rs 232.5
